I'ts Monday, What's a Girl to Do?

Wow, Monday sure came fast, again!
How was your week of conscious water intake? That was the first part of the journey.
The next part, is moving your body!
Have you ever noticed there are some dolls with movable parts, like their legs and arms move. Their head turns. What would happen if they did not have movable parts? Well, if you forced them to move, they would eventually break.
Ever notice our arms and legs are movable? We can move our torso, heads, even fingers and toes? That is because we were designed to move! Did you know that? If you have been living like a doll without movable parts, it's time to explore your movement.

This weeks, assignment, turn on the music, whatever you like, and dance! Dance with your children, or by yourself, for 25 minutes, each day this week!!!
Tell me how you feel - let's blog about it.

Healthy Princes and Princesses

So I have been shopping around for a health club. My husband joined one health club, and I have toured two so far. I don't just want a place to exercise, I want a place to bring my girls. The first health club, had a kids place, but it was strictly babysitting. I don't want a babysitter, I already have one. The second place was not as nice as the first place, but had some activities like swimming. But my girls can't swim yet. So they would be stuffed in the babysitting room while I worked out.

Where is the workout for kids? While I get healthier, it is my wish that my entire family get healthier. Isn't there a problem with childhood obesity America?
Then why should my children play with dolls, while I work up a sweat?

Even Cinderella worked out (scrubbing floors etc.) and was in good shape! Remember when she ran away at the stroke of midnight? She wouldn't be able to do that so easily if she weren't in shape.

Come on health clubs! Get our kids fit right along with us!

Snow Princess!

It has snowed, again! I do love the fluffy shapes falling softly. It seems to make everything hush. I really do enjoy watching it fall. When my sister was alive, every first snowfall, we had a ritual of phoning one another. She loved the snow, she was a Snow Princess of sorts.
Now, I have my children as little Snow Princesses. They love to play in the white stuff, I have to make them come in, and warm up.
What to do with all the snow we have had recently? I have piles and piles of it. Attempted an igloo, that I didn't finish, feeling your hands and feet are kind of important. By the time I warmed up, I was too tired to go back out.
Today will be different. I am planning to turn the snow into a workout. I need to move my body, and it needs me to.(Hint for next weeks assignment)
Here are some uses we can get out of the white stuff:

Make an igloo (completely)
Make a snow cave - just snow blow, or better yet shovel all that snow into one big pile, then hollow out a cave door. Poor water over the top so it can harden!
Make a sweet treat - see my recipe page
Go sledding
Go snowshoeing!
Just play!
Any more ideas?
How are you going to turn into a Snow Princess?

Jennifer Hudson in that red dress!

Oh boy, I saw Jennifer Hudson on the cover of Weight Watchers magazine! Wow, she looks great! Having her first child was really a motivation for her to get fit and healthy. It wasn't just about the size on the hanger, or the number on the scale. She wanted to be healthy to be the best mom she could be! She has often said, she was o.k. with her size, but knew she wanted to be healthy.

I have two beautiful girls, and a wonderful husband. My oldest is 8 years old now. The other day she said, "I wish you could lose weight." I said, "Why?" (trying to hold back a shocking look. She said, "Because I want you to play with me, ride bikes and go on the swing". Boy that took me back a few steps! I know I can ride a bike, play, and swing. But, it's a struggle, just going up the stairs and I'm panting. I'm not fooling her, although I may have fooled myself for years. She noticed my struggles on the swing last summer. She noticed when I unbuttoned my pants to sit on the floor and play, she noticed my new bike sat in the garage, for the last three years.

Now I understand Jennifer Hudson's motivation....

What motivates you?

Let's blog about it!

Water water everywhere but.....

Did you drink a drop?
I literally forgot to drink a drop of water today. Did you know, that if you drink a glass before your meal, and after your meals, you easily get in 6 glasses! (math 3x3)
Then you can supplement the rest, like have flavored water as a special treat for 'I drank 6 glasses already' reward. There are seltzers, the flavored, 0 calorie, without artificial sweetners. Maybe a cup of relaxing tea before bedtime, that's really water right?

How do you get your water in?

Lets blog about it!

It's Monday, what's a Debutante to do?

Doesn't every diet start on Monday? Well today is Monday, and if your reading this, you probably know exactly what I mean. Another day to wake up ready to get set, and go! Right? Wrong! Remember this is about wellness. Wellness doesn't wait for Monday, in fact wellness doesn't know what day it is. Wellness is always ready, and when you make smart choices, it begins at that second. Period. Did you decide to put down the creamer and just have black coffee? Did you forgo the coffee altogether because you personally are cutting back on caffeine? Did you stretch when you got out of bed, even though you perhaps had to 'roll' out of bed. Did you start your day drinking water? Did you consciously think about it? If you did, you have begun wellness! This weeks challenge, DRINK YOUR WATER!

Hey, leave a comment if you agree or if your on my journey in wellness.

Cinderella was already a princess at heart, she already had grace and poise. She already was beautiful on the inside. So are YOU! Now, get ready for the ball....

What is a Debutante?

Last January, a group of my friends realized, about the same time, that we were through with living an unhealthy way of life. At first it was about weight loss. The numbers on the scale, the smaller sized jeans. Then we realized that thanks to our smaller sized, not so healthy friends, it's not just about the number on the scale! We realized we all wanted to achieve a size healthy, and wanted to be healthy. The CDS's were born! Cinderella (like) Debutante Sisters. Our aim was "We can, and will do this!"
Our motto was, "Decide, Commit, Succeed". And we did... for a little while, most of us. Some of us continued on to attain our size healthy, and cheered the rest of us on. It was decided that a certain number of Debutantes would join at the beginning of each year, to mix things up, and give the overwhelming number of friends a chance to be, a Debutante for a year.
But I want to be a Debutante for life, and I want you to join me in my journey!
