How did your week of movement go? Did you actually get off the couch and move? Did you put the mouse down, and dance?
I must confess, I didn't do as much as I intended, but I did dance with my girls in the living room. Yep, we played Signing Time music and danced and sang! It was great. Then we visited Old Sturbridge Village, it was freezing cold, and we walked and walked from one old house to another.
Then, I watched my girls sledding. Over and over again. They giggled with a pit in their stomachs each time they went over the slight mounds of snow. They walked back up the hill, and then repeat. I went into one of the old homes, and watched from the window. I was cold and needed the slighted warmth from the hearth. Then, I watched my husband get down belly first on the sled, and poof - he went on down the slope! I went out and watched him run, albeit out of breath, back up the hill with the sled. I was afraid he would somehow harness a fighting me and throw me down the hill, so I walked back toward the house. As I walked back, I could hear my family laughing, behind me.
I felt so many emotions. Excitement, jealousy, fear, and yes, even adventure. I turned back towards them, and realized my husband wasn't after me, he was enjoying himself! They all were. The next thing that happened, I couldn't believe. The words flew out of my mouth, "Could someone hold my purse, I'm going down next." Did I just say that? There was no turning back, and there was a strong desire to do so, as my youngest held my purse with a big smile while I was putting my feet on the wooden bar in front of me, and my husband handed me the rope, to hold on to. Then, he pushed me! Woosh! In a split second, I was down at the bottom of the hill. I turned around, realizing I actually lived, and with a smile, I began to repeat.
Whether your walking, sledding, running or dancing, get that body moving, you just may have fun in the process!
Drink your water.
Stay well.
