Jennifer Hudson in that red dress!

Oh boy, I saw Jennifer Hudson on the cover of Weight Watchers magazine! Wow, she looks great! Having her first child was really a motivation for her to get fit and healthy. It wasn't just about the size on the hanger, or the number on the scale. She wanted to be healthy to be the best mom she could be! She has often said, she was o.k. with her size, but knew she wanted to be healthy.

I have two beautiful girls, and a wonderful husband. My oldest is 8 years old now. The other day she said, "I wish you could lose weight." I said, "Why?" (trying to hold back a shocking look. She said, "Because I want you to play with me, ride bikes and go on the swing". Boy that took me back a few steps! I know I can ride a bike, play, and swing. But, it's a struggle, just going up the stairs and I'm panting. I'm not fooling her, although I may have fooled myself for years. She noticed my struggles on the swing last summer. She noticed when I unbuttoned my pants to sit on the floor and play, she noticed my new bike sat in the garage, for the last three years.

Now I understand Jennifer Hudson's motivation....

What motivates you?

Let's blog about it!

Stay Well

  1. I am motivated by how good I felt when I was 30lb lighter - just about a year ago I was doing sooo well and I got down to a goal I never ever thought I'd reach, I was wearing size 14 before and imagine how amazing I felt when I went shopping after losing all that weight and fit into size 4 jeans!! It was a miracle! I felt so good. I have let myself go since reaching that goal. Actually my goal back then was to lose weight until our family vacation, reasoning that while on vacation I would eat whatever I wanted. Big mistake. Don't make that your motivation. Because after the vacation is over I was too lazy and unmotivated to get back on track. So my motivation is now to get back to that great feeling of fitting my clothes more on the loose side and making it a lifestyle. I felt so good then....
